About

One engineer. Six years shipping production software for clients worldwide.

I'm Pol Mendieta — freelance full-stack engineer based in Barcelona, available worldwide. I build web platforms, SaaS products, mobile apps and custom CMS, end-to-end, on a fixed-price contract.

What I actually do day-to-day

Most of my work falls into four buckets: web applications (Astro, Next.js, React — landing pages all the way up to multi-tenant SaaS), mobile apps (React Native + Expo, with native Swift/Kotlin bridges when the feature really needs it), custom CMS and admin panels (when WordPress is too heavy and Webflow won't fit), and technical SEO (Core Web Vitals, schema, content architecture — the kind that actually moves rankings).

Behind every project, the same plumbing keeps showing up: PostgreSQL for data, Stripe for billing, a tightly-tuned admin dashboard, an OpenAPI-typed REST layer, Sentry for errors, a CI pipeline that's green on every push. I've built that stack so many times it's become muscle memory, which is why my quotes are fixed — I know what each piece costs in time.

Who I work with

Mostly founders and small operating teams who want one direct contact they can text and get the answer from — not an agency funnel with a project manager who has to ask the engineer who's actually building it. If you've worked with an agency before and felt like you were paying for layers of bureaucracy, you'll feel the difference here.

My typical engagements run from €1,500 (a polished landing page with Stripe Checkout) to €15,000+ (a full SaaS platform with auth, billing, multi-tenant admin and the marketing site). Everything in between gets quoted as a fixed package the day after a 30-minute briefing call.

How I'm different from a typical freelance dev

  • I own the whole stack. Frontend, backend, infra, billing, SEO — there's no handoff between five contractors where things break. One brain, one delivery.
  • Fixed price up-front, no hourly drift. You know the bill before we start. Scope changes get re-quoted — they don't silently inflate the invoice.
  • SEO is built in, not bolted on. Every site I ship hits Lighthouse 95+ on day one and rolls out with semantic HTML, schema markup, sitemaps and hreflang already wired.
  • 30 days of free post-launch support. Bug fixes, tweaks, evolution — included. After 30 days you can roll into a monthly retainer or take the keys.
  • Code lives on YOUR GitHub from day one. No black-box delivery, no hostage scripts. Even if we stopped working together tomorrow, your team or the next dev can pick it up.

Stack & technologies I use in production

Frontend: Astro, Next.js (App Router), React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4, Mantine, React Native, Expo.

Backend: Node.js + Fastify, Next.js API routes, Prisma, PostgreSQL, Redis, Stripe, OpenAPI-typed clients.

Infra & ops: Docker, Nginx, Cloudflare, PM2, Linux servers (OVH, Hetzner), Let's Encrypt, GitHub Actions for CI/CD.

SEO & analytics: Google Search Console, Plausible, schema.org markup, Core Web Vitals optimization, log-file analysis.

Where I'm based, who I work for

Barcelona, Spain — but I work asynchronously with clients across Europe, the UK, the US and LATAM. Quotes go out in EUR by default; invoiced in USD or GBP on request. All projects are signed via a short freelance services agreement (English or Spanish) before kickoff.

How to start a project with me

Send a brief through the contact form describing what you're building, the goal and a rough budget. I reply within 24h with either a fixed quote or a Calendly link to talk it through. The whole pipeline from first email to signed contract typically takes under a week — and the build starts the Monday after.
